What happens after you call

1. A short conversation

Roughly what you are thinking, where the house is, and whether there is an existing deck. If something sounds unsafe we will tell you on the phone and say to keep people off it.

2. A site visit

We measure the house, check door threshold heights and the fall across the yard, look at the access route, and find where the gas meter and the hose bib sit. If there is an existing deck we get underneath it. Usually inside a few days.

3. Options and a written scope

Two or three layouts at different price points, with materials by brand and product line, framing specification, hardware, railing style, stair count, timeline and price. Free, and there is no obligation attached to it.

4. Permit, then build

We prepare the framing plan and submit it to your jurisdiction, then build once it is approved. Permit turnaround runs one to three weeks depending on where you are.

We are a service area business covering Dayton and the Miami Valley. We come to you rather than the other way around, so there is no showroom to visit. Samples come with us to the site visit, which is more useful anyway: composite colour reads very differently in your own yard than under showroom lighting.

Areas we cover

Best time to get on the schedule

Spring books out first because everyone calls in March and April. Late summer and autumn are usually the fastest route onto the calendar, the ground digs more easily, material lead times are shorter, and you go into winter with the deck finished and ready for the following season.

Why homeowners pick Apex Decks

  • Footings below the frost line

Ohio ground heaves. Every post we set lands on a poured footing below the local frost depth, which is what keeps a deck level through a decade of freeze and thaw.

  • Permits and inspections handled

We pull the permit, meet the inspector and hand you the signed card. An unpermitted deck becomes your problem the day you sell the house.

  • Written scope before we start

Materials, framing spec, hardware, timeline and price in writing before anybody swings a hammer. No verbal change orders.
